We are about to open bookings for Online Running Physiotherapy, so I thought I’d quickly re-introduce myself and what I am about.

Run With Strength is my run coaching business that I started in 2018. I am now combining my 8 years of physiotherapy practice with 6 years of run coaching to create Run With Strength Online Physio.

I am a passionate road, trail and ultra runner. I have as much love for smashing out a 5k as I do for grinding out a 100k (a little less love for my nemesis the 42.195k…🙃). I’m also a dad of 2 👶👶

Why am I starting Online Running Physiotherapy? I want to help runners break the injury cycle and get back to what they love as quickly as possible. The benefits of online running physio with me are:

 1. I know running and I know how to train. Injury rehab isn’t just completing a few strength exercises. I help runners strategically rebuild there running load to get back to performing whilst leaving their injury in the rear-view mirror (See “The Physio Coach” option online for more detail)

2. We have time! I’m not working for the man trying to rush you out the door with a quick fix. I have time to get to know you so we can set you up to for rehab success. 

3. It’s convenient! Book online and complete the appointment in the comfort of your own home.

Irritated ITB? Struggling to get through a run? Try these exercises in early and later stage rehab, with guidance from your running physio.

The ITB is an awesome structure that stores and releases energy, similar to the Achilles tendon but less efficient. The coolest thing is that humans are the only animals that have one - so don’t worry about being unique ever again you bipedal wonder 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

ITB rehab should involve a lot of guidance regarding running load management, a few exercises to improve capacity and zero foam rolling of the ITB at the knee!

Again, don’t roll your ITB around the knee! ITB pain is a compression injury and the pain is believed to come from the fat pad below the ITB. So if you really want to foam roll, roll further up around your glutes so you don’t further compress the ITB 😉
